Owing to the present winter weather conditions, PennDOT is temporarily lowering the speed limit on multiple roadways in the area.

The following vehicle limitations are scheduled to take effect at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, in accordance with Tier 1 of the state's weather-related vehicle restriction plan

• I-76 entire length.
• I-78 entire length.
• I-80 between I-81 and New Jersey.
• I-81 entire length.
• I-83 entire length.
• I-84 entire length.
• I-95 entire length.
• I-283 entire length.
• I-295 entire length.
• I-380 entire length.
• I-476 entire length.
• I-676 entire length.
• Route 33 entire length.
• US 22 from I-78 to New Jersey
• PA Turnpike I-76 from Carlisle (Exit 226) to PA Turnpike I-276.
• PA Turnpike I-276 for the full distance.
• PA Turnpike Northeast Extension I-476 full route

Within Tier 1, the following vehicles are prohibited from using the impacted roadways.

• Tractors without trailers.
• Tractors pulling empty or minimally loaded closed trailers, open trailers, or tank trailers.
• Tractors pulling empty or minimally loaded double trailers.
• Cargo delivery trucks or box trucks, which are either empty or carrying a light load, and that qualify as commercial motor vehicles.
• Motor vehicles (cars, sport utility vehicles, pickup trucks, etc.) pulling trailers.
• Recreational vehicles/motorhomes.
• School buses, delivery buses, and long-distance coaches.
• Motorcycles.

PennDOT is advising drivers to limit non-essential trips, but individuals who need to drive will encounter speed limits set at 45 mph on these routes. Trucks and other commercial vehicles not subject to these rules are required to stay in the right lane.
