Final Cleveland Auto Show at I-X Center
CLEVELAND (WJW) — The Cleveland Auto Showis back — but this year signifies the conclusion of a chapter. It's the last broadcast at theI-X Centerbefore the structure shifts to private control.
Many people in the auto industry believe that tariffs are affecting both car buyers and dealers. Nevertheless, these issues are being overshadowed by innovation and a sense of nostalgia at the Cleveland Auto Show, which began on Friday.
The automobile exhibition has taken place at the I-X Center for many years, and on Saturday, numerous people were eager to start the opening weekend of its last year.
"There are really cool cars, really cool items, you know? BMWs, SUVs. You know, I'm looking for something fresh," said auto show visitor Jaydon Ruiz.
Numerous new and developing vehicles are featured at the Cleveland Auto Show, ranging from high-end SUVs to stylish sedans. Enthusiasts filled the I-X Center for its last year of hosting this long-standing event. For some, such as Juan Carlos, it's their initial visit.
I'm very pleased to be at the Cleveland Auto Show. It's quite nice," he said. "The best part is the classic cars, so this is the highlight. However, the new models are also extremely impressive. I really enjoy it.
For some, it's an annual custom.
"we visit annually," mentioned auto show visitor samantha pacheco.
Families filled the Cleveland Auto Show to view the vehicles closely and turn it into a family outing. Pacheco and her family are in the market for a new car.
"My car lease is ending soon, so we came to test drive and sit in many different vehicles," she said.
The Cleveland Auto Show is ongoing until March 1. In addition to test drives and cost evaluations, many find it nostalgic, making this last auto show at the I-X Center particularly emotional.
"I heard they're putting the place up for sale, you know? But we're still here," said Ruiz.
He was present with companions examining high-performance cars and evaluating costs. Nevertheless, he mentioned that some aspects of what he observed could astonish buyers.
"Honestly, the prices are a bit lower than I anticipated, you know? Some of the retailers have good cars available, like around $50K, you know? They're still high, but compared to others, they're not too bad," said Ruiz.
Regarding pricing, there remains ambiguity concerning the effects of tariffs. Manufacturers have chosen not to comment for now, stating they share the same level of uncertainty.
