Timothée Chalamet Says Nolan Reunion Made Him Feel '17 Again'

The actor who received an Oscar nomination, aged 30, was a teenager when they collaborated on the science fiction movie.

Timothée Chalamet's latest collaboration with Christopher Nolan made him feel like a teenager once more.

During a screening of Call Me By Your Nameat the historic Los Angeles Theatre on February 13, the Academy Award-nominated actor, 30, shared his thoughts on his recent conversation with theInterstellar director. The two actors met earlier this month before an IMAX 70mm showing of the 2014 science fiction adventure movie to talk about their time working on the set.

At the latest event, which was hosted by Cinespia to celebrate its 25th anniversary, Chalamet said, 'The whole experience with Nolan made me feel completely like I was 17 again. I went home, and it was shocking... That was a wild ride home. I thought, 'Wow, I feel like those 13 years didn't even happen.'

The Marty Supreme Star mentioned that Nolan, 55, "was making jokes behind the scenes."

We were taking photos together ... and he grabbed me in a headlock andstarts messing with my hair,"He remembered. "I was like, 'Holy cow, Chris Nolan is giving me a headlock right now.' "

"I told him, 'Chris, I'm a 30-year-old man,' he replied, 'Not to me, you're not,'" Chalamet said, laughing.

The WonkaStar portrayed Matthew McConaughey's son in the film, which marked one of Chalamet's early significant acting roles.

Besides Chalamet and McConaughey, the film included Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Matt Damon, Mackenzie Foy, and Michael Caine.Interstellarwas nominated for five Academy Awards, securing the Best Visual Effects award.

During the Feb. 9 screening alongside The Dark Knight director, Chalamet shared why the film remains — and has always been — significant to him.

Although my part is not very large inInterstellar —I believe I was number 12 on the call sheet — this movie came to me during a period in my life and career when things were definitely not settled yet," he said. "And it has stayed my favorite project I've ever been part of. It's the film I've watched the most, of all the movies ever made in human history."

After his role in Interstellar,Chalamet went on to secure his defining role inCall Me By Your Nameearning him his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. Chalamet was nominated once more for his performance as Bob Dylan in the 2024 biographical film.A Complete Unknown, as well as for his contributions in 2025'sMarty Supreme, becoming the youngest performer since Marlon Brando toearned three Best Actor Oscar nominations.
