When it first launched in 2018, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 (which means black arrow in Swedish) created a stir due to its elegant appearance and off-road influenced style. It offered performance through a single-cylinder engine supplied by KTM, making it an attractive option.modern urban hooligan machine.

The 2024 update built upon those early efforts, as the brand performed an engine upgrade on the middleweight model and gave it a new look. By replacing the LC4 with a 799cc LC8c twin, this resulted in a more modern, sharper design.

The upcoming Svartpilen 801 from Husqvarna doesn't signal a major transformation, but it still brings a significant improvement. With a more aggressive look and enhanced technology, it further hones the Swedish brand's neo-retro masterpiece.

Lean green style

Husqvarna is referring to it as the Svartpilen 801 SE, with the last two letters in its name representing "Style Edition." In other words, this motorcycle offers some unique features.

In reality, this translates to the brand introducing a new green color scheme for the Svartpilen 801, featuring a dark green fuel tank and front fender along with more delicate green details. It's a quiet design, yet it offers a welcome change from the company's typical black and gray color palette.

But here's the catch: the designation isn't just a new coat of paint. As part of the bike's exclusive SE edition, Husqvarna is also giving the Svartpilen 801 some extra features.riding aids.

Specifically, cruise control and Easy Shift. Previously, these were optional features on the base model and offer notable enhancements to riding ease — the latter is Husqvarna's quickshifter, enabling clutchless upshifts and downshifts.

Stick to your guns

In addition to the new color and standard features, Husqvarna did not implement any other modifications to the Svartpilen 801 for the SE model. However, this is because there was no need to do so.

In the 2024 update, the bike received the same appealing parallel-twin engine as the KTM 790 Duke and 790 Adventure. While riding, it delivers 105 horsepower at 9,250 rpm and 64.2 lb-ft of torque at 8,000 rpm.

Additionally, Husqvarna has ensured that both the suspension and braking capabilities are effectively addressed. The suspension system features adjustable WP Apex forks and an adjustable WP Apex monoshock, while the braking performance is achieved through J.Juan brakes — four-piston calipers paired with 300mm discs in the front and a two-piston caliper with a 240mm disc at the back.

Enhanced with features such as a ride-by-wire throttle, adjustable riding modes, cornering ABS, and built-in smartphone connectivity, it offers even more with the optional Dynamic Pack.

As part of the upgrade, the Svartpilen 801 SE now includes a fourth riding mode, along with 10 levels of Motor Slip Regulation and five different Anti-Wheelie configurations. Combined, these features provide riders with greater control over the bike's performance.

Availability and pricing

As per Husqvarna, the 2027 Svartpilen 801 SE will be available in limited numbers and specific regions starting from the end of this month. The cost has not been disclosed yet, but the motorcycles will be sold via certified Husqvarna Mobility dealers.
