On The Covino & Rich ShowIn 2021, Biggs responded to rumors that he had rejected the main role in the CBS comedy series "How I Met Your Mother." The part of Ted Mosby was ultimately given to Josh Radnor. Biggs verified that this information was accurate. As he mentioned:

I was given the opportunity. Yes. I was offered the part, and it's likely my greatest regret, you know, about turning it down. I was going through a phase at that time—what sounds so arrogant to say now—but back then it was like, 'Do I really want to do television?' I don't think I was fully prepared to take that path.

In the early 2000s, Biggs was producing films such asthe chaotic slapstick film "Saving Silverman" featuring Jack Blackand "Jersey Girl," among other titles. The program debuted in 2005. It was a different era. As Biggs further elaborated:

I was still involved in filmmaking. I would do a few months on a project and then move on, and later I was committed to a TV show. Duh, duh, duh, duh. I just realized, I don't think it's the right path for me. It was a really great, enjoyable script. It was definitely original, humorous, and everything about it. I was well-suited for it. But yeah, I decided not to take it.

Despite the fact that Star Neil Patrick Harris disliked the title "How I Met Your Mother", it became a huge success that lasted nine seasons and more than 200 episodes. It would also have brought him back together with his "American Pie" co-star Alyson Hannigan, who portrayed Lily Aldrin on the series. In that respect, it would have made a lot of sense. Instead, Josh Radnor receives that nice, steady syndication income.

So, not long after, I said, 'Alright, I really do want to do this, let's look for some shows.' After that, I spent approximately four years attempting to create a show. It's not as straightforward as it seems.

In summary, I don't have any regrets. Right? I've been very lucky and fortunate. I'm still alive, which is the most important thing," Biggs said. "But yes, if I had to choose something I wish I had done differently, I would have taken that job for sure. Definitely.
