P'burg Launches Donation Drive for Summit Avenue Evacuees

Dozens of residents forced to leave their homes due to sinkholes in Phillipsburgwill be supported via fundraising initiatives.

The community is urging locals to donate personal care and hygiene items for neighbors affected by the unexpected emergence of sinkholes on the peaceful streets.

Construction teams labored nonstop from Tuesday through Friday.attempting to rapidly and efficiently extract a dump truck that had become stuck in a sinkhole at the corner of Lewis Street and Summit Avenue.

Emergency crews stayed on location overnight to handle ongoing issues at the intersection, as stated in a statement from the town.

Engineers in the field anticipate that the street will be safe for vehicles to return within the next seven days. A site manager from Van Cleef Engineering mentioned that the restoration work might be finished by Sunday.

Residents can deliver essential items for those impacted at three sites: Phillipsburg Town Hall located on Filmore Street, Norwescap's office at 350 Marshall St., and the Phillipsburg Police Department situated on South Main Street.
