2026 Porsche Taycan Black Edition: Darker Look, Bigger Power Boost

As if the Porsche Taycan configurator wasn’t large enough, Porsche is expanding the Taycan’s lineup with a Black Edition. As the name would suggest, the Black Edition comes with some black accents on the exterior and interior. However, the Black Edition models will also come with an expanded list of standard features, like the 105-kWh Performance Battery Plus battery module.

Black Edition Additions

Included with the Taycan, Taycan 4, and Taycan 4S trims, the Black Edition features glossy black mirror covers and window surrounds. An illuminated fully-blackened Porsche emblem can be found on the backlight panel as well. Although the name might imply otherwise, you can actually have a Taycan Black Edition painted in any color available in the lineup. Porsche’s Free shades selection available. Naturally, should you wish, you have the option to access additional finish options, or request a painted sample, subject to an additional cost.

Entering the Taycan Black Edition, you'll notice black, polished aluminum door sills. Porsche has also added a black interior trim option and the storage package to the specifications.

Bigger Battery, Included

Although the accents and black finishes take center stage, the main issue with the Black Edition lies in the Performance Battery Plus. This battery comes as part of the Black Edition and swaps out the regular 89-kWh total capacity battery for the 105-kWh Performance Battery Plus. This upgrade increases the standard Taycan’s range from 274 miles on a single charge to 318 miles.

The package also tacks on a set of 21-inch wheels, Porsche crests on the headrests, a Bose surround sound system, and HD-Matrix Design LED headlamps, among other standard features. You’ll also net Black Edition badging on the doors, a badge on the center console reminding you that you snagged a Black Edition, and a matching key set.

Porsche states that the Taycan Black Edition models are anticipated to arrive at dealerships during the fall of 2025. The cost will be revealed nearer to the release date, but there's certainty that this option will increase the starting price from $106,150.
