As initially highlighted by The Mirror Terell Brooks, a 33-year-old accounting professional from Romford, Essex, submitted a claim after an event occurred on August 19, 2022. As per Brooks' statement, he was seated inside his 911 Carrera GTS, which had been stopped on the side of the A13 in Essex. During this time, a delivery truck covered under AXA UK struck the car, resulting in both property damage and, according to Brooks, personal injury.
Brooks subsequently submitted a claim for £63,435 regarding supposed harm to the Porsche, £5,000 for reported personal injuries, £2,400 for alleged medical expenses, and an additional £3,374 for claimed lost income. While the vehicle damage didn’t trigger concerns, other elements of the request raised questions.
In the end, the truck that hit the Porsche had a dashboard camera, and the recorded footage presented an entirely different account. According to the video, Brooks wasn’t inside his vehicle, but rather crouched behind some shrubs beside the roadway. The reason for his absence from the car during the accident remained unclear. (Maybe he was taking care of personal business?) No matter what the cause, he couldn't have sustained injuries from a collision he didn't participate in.

Afterward, Brooks dropped his claim and consented to cover AXA's legal expenses amounting to £4000 (about $5400). Brooks additionally officially acknowledged that his claim had been deceitful and confirmed he wasn't inside his vehicle during the accident. He did not receive any compensation for his claim.
