Tucker Carlsonon Saturday expressed regret for implying the Israeli president Isaac Herzog went to Jeffrey Epstein’s"pedo island" and has not faced consequences for it, one day following the statement made in an interview with the U.S. Ambassador to IsraelMike Huckabee.
Carlson shared a two-minute video on X in which he stated that Herzog's team sent him a "lengthy letter" strongly refuting the claim.
In fact, he clearly denied ever having any contact with Epstein," Carlson explained. "They didn't know each other, they never emailed, and they were never in the same room. They had no relationship at all.
The former Fox News personality mentioned that he receives many letters similar to the one sent by Herzog's team, but they are "rarely" so firm in claiming he was incorrect.
And therefore, we are treating this with seriousness. There is nothing more damaging than undermining the reputation of an innocent person," Carlson stated. "So I just want to clearly say I'm sorry for suggesting that I knew something I wasn't aware of — naturally, I didn't know that Isaac Herzog was on that island. I was referring to that email and theprotest against himBut I don't know that, and I didn't intend to imply that I do.
Carlson's apology followed his mention of a false statement linking Herzog to Epstein during his conversation with Huckabee the previous day.
The current president of Israel, whom I'm sure you're aware of, was apparently at 'pedo island,' as it states," Carlson said. "Current, high-ranking Israeli officials are directly connected to Epstein's life, if not his crimes, so I believe you should be following this.
Huckabee stated that this was not accurate. Carlson was referencing a statement made byThe Times reporter Gabrielle Weiniger, who recently shared a manipulated image of Herzog hanging out with Epstein. Weiniger later acknowledged the photowas an “AI fake.”
Carlson's visit to Israel generated additional news stories, such as the U.S. Embassyrejecting a report that he was "held"at airport security. Huckabee alsoopposed Carlson's assertion challenged Carlson's statement disputed Carlson's claim refuted Carlson's argument countered Carlson's assertion questioned Carlson's claim rejected Carlson's statement disagreed with Carlson's claim took issue with Carlson's assertion contradicted Carlson's claimthat the number of Christians in Israel is decreasing.
"I keep hearing that Christians are not treated well in Israel — that's just a falsehood. It's a lie!" Huckabee stated.
