Ruffalo Challenges Cameron's Take on Netflix-Warner Bros Deal

Mark Ruffalo isn’t buying into James Cameronhis appeal to Congress to reevaluate theNetflix-Warner Bros dealCameron sent a letter to Senator Mike Lee, who is part of the antitrust committee, arguing that if Netflix acquired Warner Brothers, it would harm the film industry. However, Ruffalo wonders if Cameron's opinion would change if Paramount were the one acquiring WB. "So... the next question for Mr. Cameron should be... 'Are you also against the monopoly that a Paramount acquisition would create? "I believe the response would be very intriguing for the film community to hear and a question that should be raised right away. Is Mike Lee opposed to the Paramount deal as well? Is he equally worried about it as he is about the Netflix deal?"
,Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix, also shared some comments regarding Cameron. "I have a great deal of respect for Mr. Cameron and I truly appreciate his work. However, his letter to you intentionally misrepresents our stance and dedication to the theatrical release of Warner Bros. films," Sarandos started. He then mentioned that he met with both Cameron and Lee, and reaffirmed his promise of a 45-day distribution period. He also stated that if Paramount Skydance acquired Warner Bros. instead of Netflix, it would reduce the film industry's value by approximately $16 billion to cover the purchase. Currently,Paramount SkydanceIt is still within the 7-day period for discussions with Warner Bros to attempt to submit another offer, and shareholders must still vote to approve the deal in March. However, at this moment, it appears that only Netflix is satisfied with the current agreement.
