Train derailed after collision with hay grinder, killing 24-year-old in central Nebraska

Authorities in Nebraska confirmed the identity of the 24-year-old who died in a crash that led to a train derailment on Thursday.

The event took place on Highway 136 in Amboy, Nebraska, approximately at 9:30 a.m.

As reported by the Webster County Sheriff's Office, a hay grinder was traveling east on the highway when it collided with an empty freight train.

The accident resulted in several vehicles being derailed.

The driver, Andrew Katzberg, was declared deceased at the location.

The freeway was closed between Red Cloud and Guide Rock until approximately 3 a.m. on Friday. It has now been opened again.

The local sheriff's department and the Nebraska State Police are looking into the event.
