Lindsey Vonn's Latest Surgery Health Update
Lindsey Vonn said Saturday that her latest surgery on the leftHer leg, which she broke during the Olympic downhill, "went well" and she "will be able to return to the U.S. at last."
A 41-year-old skier is being treated at a medical facility inTreviso.
Vonn suffered a "complex tibia fracture" in an Olympic downhill competition last Sunday, crashing only 13 seconds into her run and subsequently being transported from the course by helicopter.
She mentioned on Monday that the injury "will need several surgeries to be fixed correctly," and later reported a "successful" third procedure on Wednesday.

Nine days prior to Sunday's accident, Vonn suffered a tear in theACLin her left knee from a different accident. Prior to that, everyone was watching her as the inspiring tale leading up to the Olympics for her return after almost six years away from competition.
"I've been reading many messages and comments stating that what happened to me has made them sad," Vonn said onInstagramPlease, don't feel sad. I truly appreciate empathy, love, and support, but I ask that you not show sadness or pity. I hope this brings you the strength to keep going, as that's what I'm doing and what I will always continue to do.
When I reflect on my accident, I wasn't at the starting line without understanding the possible outcomes. I was fully aware of my actions. I decided to take a chance.
Vonn's father, Alan Kildow, stated to The Associated Press on Monday that his daughter will stop racing if he has any say in her choice.
But Vonn ended her most recent message by stating that she is "still looking forward to the moment when I can stand on the top of the mountain once again. And I will."
