Hancock County Schools Shut Down Amid Flu Surge
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Public schools in Hancock County will be temporarily closed for several days due to a rise in flu cases.
As per Hancock County Public Schools Communication, with a notable rise in absences linked to confirmed cases of flu A, flu B, norovirus, and other health issues, schools will be closed on February 16 and February 17. Authorities state this measure will enable custodians to thoroughly clean the facilities while reducing the risk of additional illness transmission.
Authorities state that there will be no NTI on these days.
Hancock County High School is also moving the boys and girls basketball matches against Breck, which were originally scheduled for Friday. The games will now occur on February 16 at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
