DICE Acknowledges Battlefield 6 Vehicles as 'Death Traps,' Launches Labs Test for Fixes

Battlefield 6 is really great, except when you're in a jeep. The LGT (light ground transport), the most common vehicle in Battlefield 6, is a complete disaster.

It's so poor at its main task—transporting safely—that it's common to see your team bypass a group of free jeeps and opt to run across the map instead,I composed it in October 2025Featuring four seats, a turret gunner, and absolutely no defense against bullets or mines, riding in Battlefield 6's only transport vehicle is akin to informing the entire server that five easy kills are about to come your way.

Four months on, the LGT is just as ineffective and unappealing as it was on the day Battlefield 6 launched. No one uses it for its original purpose, and when someone does take the risk, they often get destroyed or quit within seconds. So when I sat down to talk to two DICE developers about Season 2, I politely asked when jeeps would stop being terrible.

The concise response? DICE knows that lightweight vehicles are dangerous, and is finally taking steps to address the issue.

I'll bring the light vehicle feedback to your team today," said Kit Eklöf, a hardware producer at DICE, to PC Gamer. "However, I also want to highlight that there's an upcoming Battlefield Labs test where we'll be testing some vehicle enhancements related to this issue. Specifically, because we've received feedback that vehicles are dangerous. We plan to implement a set of vehicle improvements in Labs soon, so make sure to watch for that.

Looks encouraging, but it's also disappointing to hear that another significant enhancement for Battlefield 6 is, at the very least, weeks off. I can accept that, and I'm pleased that DICE has this Labs system to properly test things, but I'll take a chance and say that even a partially developed set of improvements for the LGT would be better than nothing.tomorrowwould leave it in a more favorable condition than it currently is.

I hope tank enthusiasts are included in the package as well, since armored vehicles in general seem to act like they're constructed from fairly thick cardboard. The astonishing amount of rockets that engineers carry these days, along with the widespread use of SMG-equipped classes, has significantly reduced the typical survival time of even a skilled tank operator to anywhere between two minutes and "exploding like a July 4th firecracker the moment you get in."

Vehicles face tough challenges in the game, which is unexpected to mention regarding their intended role as essential combat tools in Battlefield 6.
