Cruise Passengers Furious Over 'Idiotic' Dress Code Crackdown

Norwegian Cruise Line travelers are criticizing the company's latest dining dress code policy as "absurd."

T-shirts and shorts are common attire for many people.cruise lovers— but anyone wishing to eat at Norwegian Cruise's highest level restaurants might soon be trading comfortable clothing for designer outfits.

Palomar, Ocean Blue, Onda, Cagney’s, Le Bistro, and Haven restaurants will no longer accept guests wearing shorts or flip-flops, as stated on the cruise line's website.

Tank tops, sweatshirts, bathrobes, shorts, jeans that are damaged or torn, and caps or hats "might not be allowed"at various dining locationsalso, the company stated.

Clothing featuring offensive language or imagery has also been excluded, as stated on the Norwegian Cruise Line's "frequently asked questions" page.

The popular cruise company, which anticipated serving 3 million travelers across 34 vessels in 2025, is recognized for its relaxed atmosphere.

So the new dress codesome restaurants came as a surprise to certain people.

The individual remarked, "Who wants to pack trousers for just a few nights for dinner only?!"

Another visitor commented, "I'm not certain the new no shorts policy is truly what your guests desire. The casual atmosphere has always been a major attraction for NCL, and I believe this adjustment is quite out of touch."

But a single individual disagreed, stating, "Bring back class to sailing. For the more upscale restaurants, it's not too much to ask to require slacks and a neat shirt.

He also stated, "No one desires to look at hairy legs and smelly, fungus-infested [toenails]"while dining."

Another individual added, "Well done on the new attire guidelines for eateries!"
