Bridget Fonda Returns to Acting After 24-Year Break

Never say never. Actress Bridget Fondacould simply be starting her return to Hollywood.

After stepping away from acting in 2001, Fonda, who is 62, has maintained a private life with her husband,Danny Elfman, and their son, Oliver Elfman, occasionally captured by photographers.

One of her more recent public appearances was in November 2025 in Los Angeles.

"She's feeling very revitalized. She's shed a significant amount of weight and has dramatically improved her health. Now that her son is an adult, she has the time to focus on herself and her personal passions, and her heart has been drawn back to acting," a source said.Closer Weeklyin an article published onFriday, February 20.

She possesses remarkable talent, making it unlikely that securing a role will be difficult for her. It's simply a matter of her discovering the appropriate project," the insider said. "The fact that she is open to it has surprised many, as it appeared she was finished for good.

Fonda, the daughter of an actorPeter Fonda and actress Susan Fonda, is most recognized for her performances as Nancy inSingle White Female, Lisa in Point of No Return, and Connie in Jackie Brown.

Fonda's final on-screen role was in a 2002 TV series titledSnow QueenFonda also experienced a severe car accident in 2003, resulting in breaks to two thoracic vertebrae, which reinforced her choice to withdraw from the public eye.

Besides her parents being part of Hollywood's elite, Fonda's aunt is a two-time Academy Award winner and activist.Jane Fonda, and her grandfather is Henry Fonda, a renowned talent acrossgenerations.
