High Noon: Vodka Seltzers Mistaken for Celsius in Wisconsin

Residents of Wisconsin might want to verify their Celsius cans again.

High Noon is issuing a recall of mixed cases following an error where certain vodka sodas were incorrectly labeled as energy beverages, according to a recall notice from the United States Food and Drug Administration.

A recall notice dated July 30 states that the High Noon Beach Variety 12-packs include cans that were incorrectly labeled as Celsius Astro Vibe Sparkling Blue Razz Edition.

Celsius energy beverages do not contain alcohol, so drinking a contaminated product could lead to accidental intake of alcohol.

No diseases or accidents have been documented, according to the warning statement.

Which items are undergoing recall?

High Noon brand mixed packages were distributed to stores from July 21st to 23rd.

This is how you can recognize the impacted items:

  • High Noon Beach Flavor Mixes: A 12-can pack with each can containing 12 fluid ounces, batch numbers: L CCC 17JL25 from 14:00 to L CCC 17JL25 at 23:59 and L CCC 18JL25 from 00:00 to L CCC 18JL25 at 03:00
  • Celsius Astro Vibe Sparkling Blue Raspberry Flavor: 12-fluid-ounce cans, batch numbers L CCB 02JL25 2:55 through L CCB 02JL25 3:11

Cans labeled incorrectly with Celsius temperatures will feature silver tops instead of standard black ones, as stated in the recall announcement.

Beach Variety packages from High Noon with alternative lot numbers compared to those mentioned in the recall can be safely eaten.

In which locations were the affected items distributed?

In addition to Wisconsin, the affected beverages were distributed to retailers across five states, according to the FDA:

  • Florida
  • New York
  • Ohio
  • South Carolina
  • Virginia
