Clark Howard: Ignore Vehicle Recalls at Your Own Risk

Consumer advocate Clark Howard from Channel 11 advises vehicle owners to pay attention to recall alerts, as automobile manufacturers are releasing more recalls than before because of the growing complexity in modern cars.

Ford has recently been in the news due to an unprecedented number of vehicle recalls, reflecting an increasing pattern within the automotive industry. As noted by Howard, the intricate nature of today's vehicles, filled with cutting-edge technology, plays a major role in the surge of recalls.

"You should look after them, particularly those involving technology, since the expenses can become very high once the recall period ends and you're responsible for it," said Clark Howard.

Although most recalls do not involve safety concerns, Howard highlights the significance of handling them quickly. Neglecting notice about recalls may result in expensive fixes after the recall window has expired.

The rise in vehicle recalls extends beyond Ford; several other car manufacturers are also seeing an increased frequency of recalls for their latest models.
