The FDA has released an emergency patch for a recall about Enoki mushrooms, cautioning that the fungus might be fatal or lead to severe health issues.
Mushrooms available across the country in 7-ounce green plastic packages from HoFood99 have been taken off shelves due to concerns about possible contamination with Listeria.
Mushrooms that were impacted were packaged in bags bearing the UPC code, located beneath the barcode, which is 6 976532 310051.
The FDA has escalated the recall to "Class I," the most severe category, indicating the mushrooms... pose a danger of "resulting in significant health issues or fatalities" '.
There have been no reports of illness or death caused by the mushrooms so far.
However, the FDA is advising individuals who might have the fungus in their homes to discard them right away or take them back to where they were bought for a complete reimbursement.
The Food and Drug Administration isn't worried that the mushrooms, commonly used in stir-fries and boiling dishes, might be fatal, but that the listeria present on them could be fatal.
It involves a pullback of a separate brand of mushrooms regarding the listeria contamination warning released over the weekend.

Contact with Listeria, particularly among elderly individuals or people with pre-existing medical issues, may result in sepsis—a severe condition in which the immune system responds excessively and harms the body's internal organs.
The announcement of the recall initially took place on June 11, however the FDA has recently issued an updated statement designating it as a Class I recall.
Products discovered to be tainted with Listeria are typically classified as Class I recalls.
Although mushrooms can remain fresh for approximately seven to ten days when stored in the refrigerator, officials worry that certain ones might still be hidden in individuals' freezers.
The revised notification involves approximately 90 containers of mushrooms that were all distributed in California.
The source of their contamination was uncertain, but this could occur if fungi are watered with liquid tainted by animal waste, which might carry listeria bacteria.
If a single Enoki mushroom tainted with Listeria makes its way into a production facility, it may rapidly transmit the bacteria to machinery, which subsequently transfers it to additional mushrooms.
The pollution was identified following the collection of samples from a retail location in Michigan and their examination for harmful microorganisms.
Approximately 1,600 individuals contract listeria annually in the United States, with nearly all cases being severe. acquiring germs from tainted food and 260 people lose their lives due to the illness.
Symptoms indicating a Listeria infection may consist of temperature elevation, shivering, head pain, loose stools, and feelings of sickness with possible throwing up.
In severe instances, when the bacterial infection extends past the gastrointestinal tract, individuals might experience disorientation, difficulty maintaining equilibrium, a rigid neck, and convulsions.
The signs of the illness typically appear within a few days up to two weeks following ingestion of an infected item.
Expectant mothers are also seen as being highly vulnerable to the bacterium, according to medical professionals who caution that it may lead to pregnancy loss, early delivery, or fetal death.
