Kenvue Fires CEO Thibaut Mongon, Names Kirk Pery as Interim Leader

July 14 (UPI) -- The American consumer health firm Kenvue announced on Monday that it has terminated CEO Thibault Mongon.

Kenvue, the company behind products such as Aveeno, Band-Aid Brand, Johnson's, Listerine, Neutrogena, and Tylenol, announced that Mongon "has left the company" and resigned from the board.

Kirk Perry, who has over three decades of expertise in technology and business change, was named acting CEO.

"Having served as interim CEO, I'm thrilled to utilize my many years of expertise managing companies within both the consumer and tech sectors, collaborating with the Board and executive team to position the company for optimal success and achieve Kenvue's maximum potential, ultimately attaining premier financial outcomes," Perry stated.

An executive recruitment agency named Heidrick & Struggles is helping the company find its new permanent chief executive officer.

The Board is currently conducting a strategic evaluation, during which various possible options are being examined, such as methods to streamline the company’s offerings and operations. Alongside this, following the CEO change and the hiring of a new Chief Financial Officer, efforts are focused on matching leadership skills to propel the company ahead, stated Larry Merlo, Chairman of Kenvue's Board. "We believe the actions we're implementing position Kenvue correctly to achieve value generation for investors over both the short and long term."
