Gina Kim Claims Hartford Title, Eyes LPGA Comeback

Milford, Connecticut (WTNH) — Gina Kim claimed victory at the Hartford Healthcare Women’s Championship on Sunday.

During a span of three days, 144 athletes had the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities at the Great River Golf Course in Milford.

Event organizers stated that the competition focuses on uniting the community to promote women's golf and encourage future athletes.

More than 1,000 people attended this year to demonstrate their backing.

This third victory means so much to me," Kim stated. "Clearly, I'm striving to improve every day. Today is one of those incredible moments when I can truly say my efforts have paid off. Such instances aren't common around here.

Kim mentioned that this victory brought her one step closer to obtaining her LPGA membership and competing as a professional golfer.

She is now ranked first in the competition for the card," said Karen Goyette from Hartford Healthcare. "This marks her third victory of the season. Therefore, she aims to secure her LPGA Tour membership this year. Previously, she was part of the tour but lost it, making this achievement particularly significant for her.

Hartford Healthcare has committed to an additional three-year term to maintain this title.
