A judge from San Francisco has decided that a former CNN employee Don Lemon may proceed with his legal action against Elon Musk . According to The Grio Superior Court Judge Harold Kahn determined that Lemon has sufficient evidence to support his claim of breach of contract.

The legal action claims that Brett Weitz, who once served as the leader of content, talent, and brand sales at X, informed Lemon that the platform "would not compensate him or honor the commitments and statements made to him due to the absence of a signed contract." Nevertheless, according to the filing, Musk had earlier assured Lemon "that a formal written agreement or 'completing forms' would not be necessary."

Lemon stated that X presented him with a one-year contract for the program, which required him to grant "exclusive access to certain video material for a 24-hour window prior to its release on other channels." According to the lawsuit, X pledged to compensate Lemon $1.5 million, plus additional benefits.

Lemon claimed he was hurried into the agreement and informed that he needed to go to the CES conference in January, otherwise the offer would be withdrawn. Based on his "understanding of Yaccarino's track record as a prosperous media leader," Lemon chose to sign up for the exclusive collaboration, according to the legal filing reported by Deadline.
