Follansbee Car & Bike Show Returns to Aid Diabetes Foundation

FOLLANSBEE, West Virginia – A cherished summer custom was back again when Lyle's Auto Car and Bike Show became the highlight in Follansbee. The gathering showcased a stunning collection of vehicles, including classic and contemporary models, along with a remarkable selection of motorcycles competing for the prestigious Best in Show award. Visitors had fun with entertainment provided by a DJ, tasty meals, and a chance to participate in a raffle.

The program had greater importance because it acted as a fundraising event for the Lyle's Family Diabetes Foundation. Dave Lyle described the organization's purpose, stating, "The way we use the funds from this foundation is by offering scholarships to students who are graduating locally and have Type 1 diabetes."

Lyle also emphasized the difficulties experienced by students who have diabetes, saying, "Managing diabetes can be somewhat complicated. There are numerous items required. When going to school, you need refrigerated insulin, along with various costs that a typical student doesn’t face."

The event this year signified the program's comeback following the end of Follansbee's Community Days, with planners expressing optimism about its ongoing support moving forward.
