What is the reason for the bread recall?

Researchers found that about 883 units of bread from six batches labeled as "Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style 1/2 Loaf" had noticeable hazelnuts. Although the label states that the items "May Contain Tree Nuts," it doesn’t specifically mention that the bread "Contains Hazelnuts."

A review found a mistake in the packaging transition involving a bread item containing hazelnuts and the previously recalled white bread product. Individuals who have a nut allergy or extreme sensitivity to hazelnuts could experience severe or potentially fatal allergic reactions if they eat these items.

In which locations were the affected items sent?

Bread was handed out to stores in Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Alabama, and Mississippi, such as Kroger and Walmart.

Has there been any illness associated with the product?

The FDA statement indicates that no significant cases of harm or sickness have been documented, although Hartford Bakery acknowledges one customer who had gastrointestinal issues following consumption. The company has also received feedback from consumers who noticed the nuts prior to eating the product.
