The message released on July 8 stated, "I am deeply thankful for the cast, team, and supporters around the globe. It has been an amazing experience. There's more coming. I appreciate each one of you with all my heart."

The group has issued a statement saying, "Starting from being one of our initial musical influences with the groups Skinyard and the impressive Soundgarden, through performing on our earliest demo recordings in 1990, Matt Cameron has consistently stood out as an exceptional and genuine force in music and drumming."

In what year did Matt Cameron become part of Soundgarden?

As a child, the drummer was influenced by Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, but when he turned 18, Cameron made a significant shift and developed a passion for jazz, exploring the work of drummers such as Elvin Jones and Max Roach. In what year did Matt Cameron become part of Pearl Jam?

In 1998, Cameron became part of Pearl Jam following his time with Soundgarden from 1986 until the band disbanded in 1997. His initial release with Pearl Jam was their rendition of the 1964 popular song Last Kiss.

At first, it was issued exclusively as a fan club release, but it eventually saw a commercial launch and climbed to position two on the Billboard Hot 100. It continues to be among the group's most successful tracks.

He also served as the drummer for Temple of the Dog, a band that included Chris Cornell, the lead singer of Soundgarden, along with members from Pearl Jam. Following this, he contributed to every Pearl Jam album starting from 2000's Binaural up until last year's Dark Matter. The publication shared that the drummer engages in running frequently to attain a similar meditative condition. It also disclosed that Cameron likes motorcycling and practicing yoga since both activities offer the same sense of focused awareness and bring about an ideal state of flow.

Cameron enjoys routines, particularly around concerts. "To achieve that smooth coordination among all your body parts, consistent practice is essential," Cameron, who initially became passionate about music through his AM/FM radio and started music classes at age nine, explained. "When you start making visible improvements on an instrument, opportunities may arise."

Last April, in a video snippet for Drumeo Cameron provided an explanation of his performance on Soundgarden's famous track "Black Hole Sun." In the beginning of the video, Cameron talked about the song's spontaneous character.

Coming in late during the album recordings, the band had no opportunity to practice the song prior to laying down the tracks in the studio. "It only took about an afternoon; we didn’t focus too much on the specifics since the structure was already strong," said Cameron. "It's a very enjoyable song to perform [on drums] because there's plenty of room. You can hit the cymbals hard; there's lots of exciting drum work involved."

During an interview with YouTube personality Rick Beato in 2022, Cameron discussed the challenges of growing older within the music business. "It's not as straightforward anymore since I'm approaching 60 because this type of music demands a specific level of vitality, you understand? And that vigor often comes down to being physically active," he mentioned then.
