Perry's side venture has only taken place occasionally over the years, as he has primarily focused on Aerosmith, but with his primary group having stopped touring because of the singer Steven Tyler Perry has put together a fresh all-star lineup for his side project following his vocal cord injury.
The most recent iteration of the Joe Perry Project features Chris Robinson vocalist of the Black Crowes, Perry's Aerosmith bandmate Brad Whitford on guitar, with a rhythmic ensemble including Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz by Stone Temple Pilots. The top-tier group also features their own headline performances at smaller locations starting August 13 in Tampa up until August 23 in Port Chester, New York.
