Rod Stewart's Heartfelt Plea to Wife Penny After Health Scare Causes Strange Moment

Rod Stewart is reported to have made a brief three-word proposal when asking his current wife to marry him Penny Lancaster on top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

The legendary musician, who got married to the ' Loose Women In 2007, as a panel member, he opted for the romantic setting of Paris to propose almost twenty years earlier.

The Daily Mail reported that Rod experienced a bit of a mishap during the proposal as he knelt on his "bad knee", leading to an uncomfortable moment.

Penny described the event, stating: "He was down on one knee. He kept saying, 'Penny, please say something! This is my bad knee!'"

In spite of the somewhat bumpy proposal, the pair have gone on to enjoy a contented married life along with their two boys, Alastair, who is 19, and Aiden, aged 13.

Penny has recently opened up about the emotional shifts she's experiencing due to the start of menopause.

During her appearance on the 'Loose Women' podcast, the 54-year-old revealed that she and 80-year-old Rod had discussed these changes, recognizing that various facets of their bond have developed since they initially connected.

She explained: "Like you said, in a lot of relationships, having that conversation, but I didn't know about menopause, nor did Rod. But as relationships do progress, I mean, Rod and I have been together 25 years.

And, as you know, we would talk about how our close relationship has changed since we first met. Many guys probably worry, like, 'Are you still attracted to me?'.

“And if the woman doesn’t realise she’s going through menopause, this could be part of the reason her desire for sex isn’t what it once was. It may not solely be an issue with the partnership; there’s also a biological factor at play.”

Always the supportive partner, Rod has been emphasizing the importance of communication between spouses, particularly during times of physiological shifts.

In a Loose Women show from 2021, he recounted: "It was terrifying because she had changed so much since our marriage. However, discussing it turned out to be crucial for us as a couple. She shed many tears explaining everything to me, as crying comes naturally to Penny."

During previous discussions with Hello! magazine, the renowned artist behind 'Maggie May' has shared insights into the deep love he holds for his spouse of nearly twenty years.

Energetically he shared: "Penny is my entire universe. What a remarkable woman she is! Love holds different meanings for different folks, yet for me, it’s about desiring to share every aspect of life with your beloved. My affection for Penny has only grown stronger over time; indeed, it seems almost impossible to love her more than I do now."
