Driver escapes minor injuries after big rig collision in Orland

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that a driver who was wearing his seatbelt avoided a potentially deadly accident when involved in a collision with a semi-truck on Orland early Thursday morning.
Officials stated that the accident occurred at the intersection of State Route 32 and County Road P around 6:15 a.m. They mentioned that a Peterbilt was moving east on SR-32, while a Nissan was heading south on Co. Rd. P.
Both drivers stated they were traveling at approximately 55 mph when they entered the intersection and collided. The Nissan driver, despite significant damage to their car, experienced only minor injuries, according to the CHP.

In their statement regarding this accident, CHP advised drivers to fasten their seatbelts, noting that a correctly used seatbelt can transform a life-threatening collision into one resulting in only minor harm.
