The NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Seriescontinues the initial phase of selecting tracks withBennett Transportation and Logistics 250on February 21 at EchoPark Speedway.

Sam Mayer secured the pole position following his fastest lap in the second qualifying session on February 20.

Austin Hill, who has won five times at Atlanta and claimed victory in the Daytona race last week, will begin the event from an unexpected 20th position.

Lap 105: Corey Day and Carson Kvapil collide while leading the race

JR Motorsports' dominance at the front came to an end when Corey Day and Carson Kvapil crashed from the top two positions as they entered turn 3. Day moved up to challenge Kvapil from the lower part of the track. It's unclear whether this was due to a handling problem or a mistake by the driver.

Justin Allgaier is also damaged.

"Corey just completely destroyed (Kvapil)," Allgaier says to his team.

Day states that he had a flat tire. He inquired with his crew if there was any sign of smoke prior to the accident, and they responded that there was none.

Carson Kvapil takes the lead on the restart with the front group still in flux.

Nick Leitz began near the back of the pack due to a pit-road penalty.

"I experienced a significant moment on two separate occasions," Hill says to his team over the radio, noting that he is being too relaxed.

Lap 5: Corey Day causes a multi-vehicle collision

Corey Day inserts his vehicle into a tight space after turn 4, pushing Ryan Sieg into the wall and triggering a multi-car collision in the tri-oval. The caution flag is displayed.

Harrison Burton, Blaine Perkins, and Shane Sieg all sustained significant damage. Patrick Staropoli also collided with the wall.

Challenging conditions on Lap 5 for the drivers. Day might have had a chance, but it didn't last long, if it existed at all.

"Could tell that from a mile away," Austin Hill, who was right behind the crash, says. He's already moved up to 10th place.

Sam Mayer makes a strong start, but Carson Kvapil receives a solid push coming out of turn 2. Mayer narrowly takes the lead on Lap 1 as the lower lane begins to fade.

"Let's reduce errors throughout the day and take advantage of any opportunities to improve our position," Austin Hill states from his P20 starting position.
