Peter White Library Hosts Prom Dress Swap

MARQUETTE, Michigan (WLUC) - The fifth annual Prom Dress Exchange took place at the Peter White Public Library, allowing students to collect a dress for their special event.

Students in grades 9 through 12 could select a prom dress without needing to sign up, pay, or bring a dress along.

As the cost of dresses increases, the Peter White Library Coordinator sees this as an excellent opportunity to provide gowns to high school students.

We aim to contribute back to the community, and dresses can be costly," said Amanda Pierce, the Teen Services Coordinator. "It's truly beneficial to offer children a chance to find something at a reduced price, and we don't have many places to shop. Plus, these are used items, so it's great to give them a new lease on life.

Individuals wishing to contribute a dress should deliver it to the Teen Services counter when the Peter White Library is open.
