Megyn Kelly Condemns Guthrie Family for Skipping Prayer Vigil
Megyn Kelly is expressing concern that the family of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie is not holding public prayer demonstrations.
Nancy Guthrie, the mother ofToday TV host Savannah Guthrie has been missing for almost a month. Kelly confronted Savannah during Thursday's episode ofThe Megyn Kelly Showfor not engaging in searches, organizing prayer vigils, or addressing the public as frequently as Kelly desires.
The former Fox News anchor was accompanied by podcaster Zack Peter, with the two expressing criticism towards Nancy's family as the Guthries continue to request her safe return.
We've seen very little of the Guthries," Kelly said on the SiriusXM show. "We haven't even seen them out. You know, participating in a search or helping with the grid, like the pattern in which they walk the grounds.

"Prayer vigil," Peter, 32, continued.
"I mean a prayer vigil, or even just a daily update," said 55-year-old Kelly.
The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Office are looking into Nancy's vanishing from her residence in Tucson, Arizona, as a possible abduction.
Savannah, 54, along with her two brothers or sisters, has been living in Tucson since their mother went missing and has asked the public for assistance in locating their mother.

"It's similar to when they occasionally release a 30-second video that says, 'If you have our mom, please bring her back.' It feels a bit strange," Kelly added.
The Guthrie children have shared several videos asking for their mother's safe return, even though Kelly noted that "we have seen very little of the Guthries."
Savannah has openly shared her deep Christian beliefs for many years.
In 2024, she wrote the bookMostly What God Does: Thoughts on Pursuing and Discovering His Love in All Places, which is referred to as a "deeply personal collection" that is "intended to connect with the practical ways God loves you."

Following Nancy's disappearance, sources indicate that Savannah is unlikely to come back.Today, who has been hosting since 2012. "There's no chance Savannah is returning," one network executive saidStatus this week, adding, "I can't picture her even wanting to."
Nevertheless, Peter maintained that Savannah and her siblings' actions were suspicious.
Not even they, it's just Savannah now. The rest of the family has left," he said. "It's just Savannah, and she gives us a brief, odd update.

"Savannah is essentially begging them and saying, 'You know, please bring our mother back. We have faith in the kindness of people,'” Peter continued.
"And I'm just thinking, this is a man that you all believe has been keeping this elderly woman somewhere for two—over two weeks now. And we think suddenly he's going to show some compassion and say, oh yeah, I'll just drop her off at a local gas station. Like I just don't get it," Peter said.
Kelly concurred, replying, "It doesn't make sense to me either."

Kelly has faced criticism for getting involved in conspiracy theories regarding Guthrie's disappearance, as she had previously claimed on her show that Savannah's brother-in-law was responsible for abducting Nancy.
On Monday, Sheriff Chris Nanos stated that all members of Guthrie's family had been exonerated.the investigation. Nanos stated that the Guthrie family has been "completely cooperative and kind, and they are victims in this situation."

Nanos also made a direct comment to the press, beggingrespect your profession and report with a sense of empathy and professionalism," and stated that sharing unverified information was "cruel.
Former CNN commentator Chris Cuomo has railed against Kellyon his NewsNation program for promoting baseless rumors regarding the case. He described her and other internet personalities involved in conspiracies as "careless influencers and aspiring detectives" who are simply seeking "clicks and provocative content" as they report on the Guthrie case.
