Lane closures planned on Yorktown Boulevard and Rodd Field Road

Southside drivers in Corpus Christi should anticipate lane closures close to the junction of Yorktown Boulevard and Rodd Field Road due to ongoing work on a road improvement initiative backed by voters, as stated in a city-issued news release.
Starting Tuesday, February 24, workers will shut down the eastbound inner lane of Yorktown Boulevard between Rodd Field Road and Geiger Drive. Additionally, one eastbound through lane at the Yorktown and Rodd Field intersection will also be closed.
On Rodd Field Road, the southbound inner lane is set to be closed while the work takes place. The U-turn lane and one left-turn lane will stay open.
The shutdowns are anticipated to stay in effect until Tuesday, March 24, as stated by the City.
The effort is included in the Yorktown Boulevard renovation initiative supported by the 2020 bond program. The project is anticipated to finish in 2027.
City authorities state that access to nearby neighborhoods and local businesses will stay open during the construction period. Drivers are advised to adhere to the posted detour signs when passing through the area.
