Four Stars to Watch as NASCAR Arrives in Atlanta

(WSPA) – Following a lively weekend in Daytona, NASCAR is set to head to a second consecutive high-speed track this weekend in Atlanta.

Here are four individuals to keep an eye on as the weekend approaches at EchoPark Speedway.

1. Tyler Reddick

After a thrilling final lap at Daytona, how will Tyler Reddick perform following his first Daytona 500 victory as the series moves to Atlanta, a track where he is still aiming for his first Cup Series win?

I still can't wrap my head around everything that happened — I was out there moving through the grass, waving at the crowd, and now I'm here with the ring and the trophy," Reddick said. "This is something I've imagined as a child, something I've wished would become real for most of my life.

2. Christopher Bell

Can Christopher Bell win again in Atlanta's spring race even though he isn't particularly fond of high-speed oval tracks?

"Winning these races requires a lot of factors beyond your control," Bell explained.

That was definitely sarcastic last year," he continued. "Myself and my team made a joke because I dislike super speedway racing, and after I won, I became happy and said that I really enjoy it.

3. Chase Elliott

Although he led the Daytona 500 after exiting turn four and finished in fourth place, can Georgia's Chase Elliott replicate his success at his home track following a final-lap move to secure the checkered flag in Atlanta last June?

I'm always excited," Elliott said. "It's great to be able to remain near home. There was a lot of positive energy there last year, which was really enjoyable to be involved in.

Clearly we were on the favorable side of it, but I hope to be on the favorable side once more.

4. Austin Hill

Although Elliott has experienced positive results at his home track in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, fellow Georgia resident and winner of the United Rentals 300 at Daytona last weekend, Austin Hill, has performed exceptionally well.

Hill is aiming for a fourth consecutive spring race victory, having also secured five of the last seven overall wins at EchoPark Speedway.

"Atlanta has been very good for us; we've won many races there, so we hope to achieve back-to-back victories. However, Atlanta is similar to Daytona... anything can happen," Hill said.

The Bennett Transportation & Logistics 250 is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, at 5 p.m. The entire race will be available to view live on the CW.

The NASCAR Cup Series Autotrader 400 is scheduled for Sunday, February 22, at 3 p.m.
