Apple Grove Street Reopens in North Canton After Power Line Repairs

NORTH CANTON − The eastbound and westbound lanes of Applegrove Street NW, located south of the Meijer store, have been reopened following a closure that lasted over an hour because of a fallen power line, according to a city notification.

A power line that had fallen was located near Conrad's Tire Express and Total Car Care at 500 Applegrove Street NW, according to the city's announcement on February 20 via text and email. The line fell on a day when wind speeds in the area surpassed 25 mph.

The initial alertSent at 4:34 p.m., crews and emergency personnel were informed and working on resolving the problem.An update At 5:50 p.m., crews had taken down the power line from the road and reopened Applegrove Street NW west of North Main Street.
