Pritzker Signs School Mental Health Screening Bill Into Law

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker plans to enhance mental health resources for students throughout the state this Thursday.

The leader will be signing a bill around 1:00 PM at Chute Middle School in Evanston.

A fresh regulation will implement comprehensive mental health assessments in public schools beginning with the 2027 academic term.

Pupils ranging from third grade up to their final year of high school will receive an annual assessment, with resources made available to schools at no charge.
