Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Winston-Salem Highway 52

Police in Winston-Salem report that a man lost his life in an accident on Highway 52 this morning.

The accident occurred on Highway 52 in both lanes close to exits 103 and 105.

Police reported that a 2020 Harley Davidson was heading south along Highway 52, nearing South Main Street (Exit 103). According to authorities, for unclear reasons, the rider, known as Carl Andrew Norton, veered off the road to the left and collided with the barrier. Norton was thrown from the motorcycle and later declared dead at the location.

The Winston-Salem police remain engaged in examining the accident.

Both direction's left lanes on Highway 52 were closed temporarily. Alternate routes were established for motorists throughout the inquiry. The road has now been opened again.
