FRIDAY, August 1, 2025 (News) — Over 1,000 pounds of frozen ground beef is being pulled from shelves following reports of metal fragments discovered in the item.

The chilled, pre-cooked beef product was produced by Ada Valley Meat Company and delivered to food service venues and suppliers across five states: California, Delaware, Illinois, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) stated that the beef was packaged in 20-pound cardboard containers. Two batch numbers are included in the recall:

Batch number 35156, packaged on 5/28/25
Batch number 35157, packaged on 5/30/25

The problem became known following a report that fragments of metal were discovered in the item.

To date, no reports of injuries or sicknesses have been received, as stated by the FSIS.

The organization cautioned that certain recalled beef might still be present in institutional refrigerators and advised food service establishments against using it.

Alternatively, the meat needs to be discarded or taken back to where it was bought.
