Dodge Challenger Demon 170 Clashes in All-Mopar Drags — but the Black Ghost Shines Brightest

The fiercest Dodge muscle cars face off on the Las Vegas Strip — but it's a customized Hellcat that records the fastest performance of the evening.
The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway turned into a Mopar-only The battleground featured Dodge's strongest muscle cars clashing in a set of drag racing confrontations, where the unexpected victor came not from the Demon 170 group—instead, it was a contemporary icon called the Black Ghost.
The night's competitions, recorded by the Wheels A YouTube channel showcased an array of Dodge Charger and Challenger models, featuring various versions of the brand's final "Last Call" edition. No Ford or Chevrolet competitors appeared in the drag race footage, resulting in a distinctive all-Dodge event.
The evening started with an intense confrontation between a black-and-white 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 and a red Charger SRT Hellcat. Although the Hellcat had an early advantage, it soon fell behind the E85-powered Demon 170, which completed a 10.17-second lap at the track, whereas the Charger managed a longer 12.38 seconds.
However, the true highlight occurred when a customized 2023 Challenger SRT Hellcat Black Ghost—driven by the famous Mopar track personality "Demonology"—faced off against a green Charger. The Black Ghost recorded an incredible 8.69-second run at 161 mph, becoming the quickest vehicle of the night, surpassing even the Demon 170.
However, that record wasn't left uncontested. In the championship match, two Demon 170s—one painted white and the other purple—competed in a high-speed showdown filled with wheelies. The white Challenger narrowly won against the purple model with a time of 9.28 seconds compared to 9.79, highlighting once again how crucial driver expertise is when handling more than 1,000 horsepower on the track.
As the Demon 170s have officially stopped being manufactured, these events showcase the ongoing heritage of Dodge's muscle vehicles and the fierce competition that continues to drive their performance even after they leave the assembly line.
So, is raw power sufficient, or does expertise continue to dominate the scene?
