  • Apart from the Cadillac Lyriq which was released prior to GM moving away from phone mirroring, Cadillac's electric vehicle line does not include this feature.

Whether you're talking about performance vehicles, weekend drives, or just your everyday commuting, we understand that phone mirroring might not be essential. However, once you've experienced using phone mirroring during a road trip or for finding an alternative route around heavy congestion, it becomes difficult to do without. Although these features are widely available, General Motors—as well as Cadillac—has revealed plans to offer all of its electric vehicle models without Apple CarPlay or Android Auto support.

That strategy could be changing somewhat, according to a recent report from the Australian publication Car Expert, which verified that all of Cadillac’s electric vehicle lineup in Australia and New Zealand will include this technology.

"All Cadillac Lyriq, Lyriq-V, Vistiq , and Optiq Vehicles arriving in Australia and New Zealand will include Cadillac Connected Services along with wireless smartphone mirroring, which is presently offered in Lyriq models (such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), said a GM representative to the publication.

In a statement to Car and Driver, Cadillac did not clearly state whether the shift in strategy for Australia and New Zealand might affect the North American market. "The features offered in our infotainment systems differ depending on the region due to local network support and the availability of OnStar services," said a Cadillac representative. C/D Eventually, our aim is to create a unified global platform that provides built-in functionalities such as entertainment, charging, navigation, and voice control. In Australia and New Zealand, phone mirroring is now accessible in certain vehicle models.

Currently in the U.S., the only electric Cadillac model featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is the Lyriq, which was introduced before GM's recent statement. This update has sparked inquiries into how Cadillac plans to move forward in Europe, where the brand is aiming to expand its footprint.
