After Cervical Cancer: Steffi Brungs Shares Her Health Update

Steffi Brungs (36) shared an update regarding her health. Approximately two months ago, the presenter disclosed publicly that she was diagnosed with cervical cancer when she was 31. There is now good news, which she announced during an interview with "Bild."
Steffi Brungs has tested negative for HPV once more.
At her most recent checkup, the gynecologist informed Brungs that she is "currently safe." The physician mentioned that they can "decrease the number of follow-up visits once more." The damaged tissue had already been surgically removed five years prior. Furthermore, Brungs received a vaccination to lower the chance of getting infected again. "As a result, I'm now negative for HPV," she shares.
This indicates that the 36-year-old is now regarded as free from the high-risk strains of the virus. "There is still some remaining risk," the presenter admits. Although the disease does not constantly occupy her mind, "it continues to have an emotional impact when I discuss it," notes Brungs.
Why did the host share her diagnosis publicly?
Early in June, Steffi Brungs disclosed on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with cervical cancer only a few weeks following her marriage to husband Christian Wackert (36). “It was really tough for me to speak about it for a long time. Now I can, because I’m so thankful that I'm well,” she said. The presenter garnered significant support for her heartfelt message — although, as she also mentions in the interview, not all reactions were positive.
I was aware there would be criticism, coming from people who don’t understand," says Brungs. Nevertheless, most responded favorably. Numerous women impacted by the issue contacted her. "That’s what I aimed to convey: It's crucial to discuss this and increase awareness," stresses the host of "Love is Blind: Germany.
