- Chevrolet has unveiled the initial sneak peek pictures for the 2027 model. Bolt which will begin production by the end of this year.
- Leaked photographs reveal that the upcoming Bolt model shares the same chassis as the earlier Bolt EUV, although the preview visuals display updated front and back grilles.
- Chevrolet also verified that the Bolt will include a NACS charging connector, enabling the electric vehicle to connect to Tesla's extensive Supercharger system.
A new Chevrolet Bolt has been anticipated for almost two years. General Motors initially revealed plans for an updated version of its budget-friendly electric vehicle towards the end of 2023 as it ceased manufacturing the original Bolt EV and EUV models. Recently, we obtained our initial official glimpse into what to anticipate with the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt, which GM previously stated will start being produced at the Fairfax Assembly facility in Kansas City, Kansas, by the close of 2025.

New spy images have caught us off guard, showing that the second-generation Bolt seems to be more of an extensive update rather than a completely new car. It retains the same oval-shaped design as the current EUV version, with camouflaged areas limited to the front and back bumpers. Now, Chevrolet has released a sequence of preview pictures shared on social platforms displaying the front and back designs.
The new LED running lights are positioned at a right angle relative to the ground, moving away from the previous "eyebrow" design's subtle slope. They seem to be joined together by a dark trim strip featuring a Chevrolet emblem. These running lights are also integrated with the primary headlights located beneath them, which still maintain their trapezoid form. Additionally, we notice an intricate diamond-shaped texture stamped into the metal just above the bottom grille area.

Chevrolet also hinted at a more robust tail light style and eye-catching black wheels, but the main detail revealed was an image of the charging port, which confirms that the updated Bolt will feature a NACS connector. Almost all car manufacturers are starting to adopt the NACS plug, enabling the Bolt to connect to Tesla’s extensive Supercharger system.
Chevrolet mentioned that additional information will be released later this year. We believe the Bolt will maintain its budget-friendly base price while offering improved range and shorter charging periods. Considering consumer interest in SUVs, the Bolt might only make a comeback as an EUV model. The 2023 Bolt EUV began at $28,795, which represented a significant reduction from its 2022 starting price of $34,495. We anticipate the cost of the upcoming 2027 version will be slightly over $30,000.
