Woods hasn't played since having surgery in March. However, even though he's had difficulty staying in shape, Ryder Cup star Sam Torrance believes it's too soon for Woods to quit.
Speaking exclusively to Mirror US, courtesy of Lottoland, When asked if Woods should step away from the game, Torrance said: "Definitely not. Over the years, I've learned about Tiger Woods — you never say never."

Torrance acknowledged he isn't fully informed about Woods' present fitness level, even though he has seen him practice at the driving range. He considered the chance of Woods assuming a major position at the Ryder Cup in September, despite Woods had declined the proposal earlier this year.
I'm not sure about his physical condition or overall health, nor how well he's doing, but I still spot him out on the course swinging clubs," Torrance remarked. "I would really like to see him return. Who knows, perhaps he could lead the Ryder Cup team if Bradley wins. It's possible, if Bradley ends up playing.

Although Woods will not be playing at Portrush during the upcoming Open Championship, he quickly provided guidance to the leading competitors. Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler regarding what is needed to win a major championship.
"They have to have the ability to control the ball," Woods said. "It's just amazing what they call a wee breeze, right? You just have to hit different shots on golf courses... because they are on seaside. Depends on the tide, it changes the wind. And it's amazing what that little change can do."
