Scholarship Up to $1,000 for First-Time College Students
Freshmen beginning their college journey can register at Aims Community College by August 1st to be eligible for a scholarship that provides as much as $1,000 in assistance.
To be eligible for the Strong Start Scholarship, submit an application to Aims as a student pursuing a degree or certification at Aims.edu/admissions/apply-now and register for a minimum of six credit hours for fall 2025 prior to August 1, as stated in an Aims Community College press announcement.
To be eligible for the Strong Start Scholarship, a student needs to be a first-year college attendee and live within the Aims Community College tax district, covering much of Weld County. A map showing the district can be found at tinyurl.com/AimsTaxDistrict .
This provides an opportunity to create additional pathways for all," stated Larry Pakowski, Vice President of Student Affairs, in a press announcement. "Our aim is to ensure the overall cost becomes more manageable for students opting to attend Aims.
The scholarship does not necessitate submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid—also known as FAFSA—or providing evidence of income, as stated in the announcement. Qualified students will get part of the grant during the fall semester and the remaining portion in the spring term of their initial year at Aims.
"Initiatives such as Strong Start render Aims almost completely free of tuition for a significant portion of our community," Pakowski stated.
As stated in the announcement, due to initiatives like the Strong Start Scholarship, 91% of Aims students complete their studies without accumulating student loan debt.
Additional details about the scholarship can be found at Aims.co/Strong-Start.
