Hart has been sharing his creative interests with followers for many years, and at one point introduced the immersive art exhibition to Las Vegas before Dead & Co's initial series of performances at the Sphere . Although he works with paint, Hart seldom employs paintbrushes. Rather, he makes use of subwoofer vibrations to form his pieces, a method he has earlier described as "vibrational expressionism."

I enjoy how everything moves, being present at the moment, experiencing something magical," Hart stated. "When I'm painting, I can sense the energy, I can observe it through the colors. ... This combination is both unusual and deep in terms of its energetic and sensory impact. I employ musical instruments to generate and drive the paintings from the vibrations created.

"The Art of the Edge of Magic" by Mickey Hart will be on display from July 24 until September 21, with an opening event planned at the non-profit art venue from 4 to 6 p.m. on July 31, the evening prior to Dead & Company beginning their three-night tribute to the Grateful Dead’s 60th anniversary shows, which are scheduled for August 1–3.

Hart intends to display his artworks illuminated from behind along with items made using "plexiglass treated with light-reactive paints," as stated. The exhibition will also include the tools Hart employs for producing his fluid paintings, alongside an auditory music component.

Throughout history, we've been drawn to art that changes and takes people somewhere else," stated Kelly Harris, executive director of the Haight Street Art Center. "Hart's whole music journey has focused on exactly that, and over the last few decades, his artwork has taken this idea into the world of visuals.
