Kansas City Zoo Grieves Loss of Beloved 36-Year-Old Orangutan

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KCTV) - The Kansas City Zoo is grieving the passing of 36-year-old orangutan Rufus.
He spent more than 20 years at the Zoo and died peacefully on Saturday as a result of a long-term heart issue.
Rufus served as both a mentor and companion to the orangutans named Josie and Kalijon. His absence will be felt by the employees and visitors at the Kansas City Zoo and Aquarium.
