Joe Perry Teases Aerosmith's Final Farewell Plans

Joe Perry says Aerosmith They have talked about meeting up for a genuine goodbye following the cancellation of their final tour in 2023.

The Peace Out tour stopped following only three performances due to frontman Steven Tyler ongoing harm to his voice box continuous injury to his larynx persistent trauma to his vocal folds long-term damage to his sound-producing organs prolonged deterioration of his vocal apparatus lasting impact on his speaking muscles chronic harm to his phonation system extended suffering for his voice-related structures repeated injuries affecting his ability to speak severe and ongoing destruction of his vocal tissues In 2024, the group revealed they would step back from performing live, with Tyler reportedly facing challenges in making a full recovery.

Ever since, guitarist Perry and Tyler have been seen performing jointly at a charity show Earlier this year, a reported complete Aerosmith comeback failed to happen during that gathering, yet it appears the rock legends are now discussing how they could potentially exit with flair.

Perry says to Trunk Nation: "We're discussing it."

Meaning, aside from things on the schedule, everyone's fine and healthy, so, you know, we'll just have to wait and see. I'm sure there will be at least one more Aerosmith concert, and I really don't look forward to compiling the setlist for that one.

When asked if Tyler could handle an entire performance, Perry responds: "I believe he can. It's really just about making it happen."

The musician made an appearance as a special guest at last week's Black Sabbath Event "Back To The Beginning" in Birmingham, England.

He was featured in a supergroup line-up with Ronnie Wood, Nuno Bettencourt, Tom Morello, Andrew Watt, Rudy Sarzo, and Travis Barker.

They performed The Train Kept A-Rollin' followed by Walk This Way and a performance of Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love .

Tyler's portrayal was referred to as "magic" in Metal Hammer's full review of the day.
