Bridge Deck Repairs: SW 134th St. Over I-44 to Close

OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR – As per the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, all traffic directions on SW 134th Street above I-44 will be shut down starting from Thursday.

Authorities state that the shutdown is due to work on the bridge surface. It will start at 8 a.m. on Thursday and last until early August.

Because of the shutdown, the following alternate routes will be available:

Motorists traveling westbound on S.W. 134th Street may utilize the eastbound lanes of I-44 (which heads north) up to S.W. 119th Street and then switch to the westbound direction of I-44 (which goes south) toward S.W. 134th Street.
Motorists heading east on S.W. 134th Street may utilize the westbound lanes of I-44 (which goes south) up to S.W. 149th, then switch to the eastbound direction of I-44 (which heads north) to reach S.W. 134th Street.

The Ohio Department of Transportation is advising motorists to be careful in this region and to anticipate traffic holdups.
