We're truly lucky; the community really pitches in," stated Jerome Simon, head of the festival. "For instance, I recently told my friends, 'Hey, we'd like to assist,' and they enthusiastically came to serve some gyros or sell tickets or contribute in any way they could.

Jim Agrafiotis, an event volunteer, described how gyros are made: "We begin by preparing the pita bread and the meat, then move along the production line, adding onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and dressing separately, ensuring our guests receive the finest sandwich available at the festival."

Sister Serapheima, who sells items at the event, said, "This is truly a lovely celebration. There's a warm family vibe, and there's plenty of delicious food. I believe it would be great if more people attend and show their support for the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church."

The event plays a vital role in ensuring the church remains financially stable, as the money collected helps pay for daily expenses and aids in supporting local initiatives. Jerome Simon stated, "With just 67 households and all our needs, the electricity cost doesn’t decrease at all. Plus, we'll have the ability to carry out significant community work thanks to these funds."
