He commented, "The route was challenging in parts, yet the ideal weather conditions added some enjoyment to it. Post-challenge, I experienced severe cramping the following day; however, I've recovered significantly since then. It proved to be an extensive day as we began our ascent at 6:30 am after rising at 5 am, tackling numerous rocky ascents that were far removed from my preparatory treks and jogs between Biggleswade and Bedford."

Simon was inspired to fundraise for the charity after news his goalkeeping colleague and former England footballer, Amy Carr, had been being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
The 34-year-old – who also made appearances for Arsenal and Chelsea under 16s – was diagnosed in 2015 after fainting at the sight of a spider.
In December 2024, she was informed about the development of an additional, inoperable, and terminal tumour located in another area of her brain. Early in May, she finished running the Belfast Marathon whilst simultaneously receiving chemotherapy treatment.
Simon, who leads performance at Goalkeeper Warz and crossed paths with Amy, commented: "By the time we started working together, Amy had already undergone treatment for her initial brain tumor diagnosis. It came as a shock when she informed me about its recurrence since she is an incredibly upbeat individual—active and extroverted."
Even though it affected her when she was young and led her to abandon a burgeoning career in football, she has adjusted well and excels at coaching children during her training sessions.
Simon commented, "The way Amy handled her brain tumour diagnosis is astounding, and I found strength in her story to tackle the Three Peaks challenge."
I quickly jotted down a message to her once Ian and I completed the hike, showing her what’s up as we sported our bright pink T-shirts to increase visibility during the walk. This was aimed at raising awareness too. She was genuinely happy and thankful.
