Americans Rally Behind MMR Vaccine as Measles Outbreaks Surge Amid Misconceptions

With measles cases reaching some of their peak levels in many years, recent survey findings show considerable backing for the MMR vaccine alongside rising uncertainty about the potential dangers of vaccines and complexities associated with diseases.

A new survey emphasised differing views concerning the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine amongst people in the USA. These perspectives arise due to insufficient correct data about the dangers posed by these illnesses and because the advantages of getting vaccinated surpass the potential hazards.

The Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania carried out the Annenberg Science and Public Health (ASAPH) survey between April 15th and 28th, 2025. This study aimed to gauge the level of understanding about the measles epidemic and the advantages of receiving the MMR vaccine amongst adult residents across the USA.
